Art & Illustration YAY
Announcing: The Uplift Family Playbook! And the end of the launch!
I have been pleasantly surprised, thanks to you, to get some Substack notifications in the last few weeks: “Generous Muse is rising in the list of Arts and Illustration… #71… #38… #33!!” Wow!!! For those of you who like Art & Illustrations, I've got big big news this week….on June 8th, my newest book dropped, and it's fulllllll of my pictures!
The Uplift Family Playbook is a career collection of all the cartoons and illustrations I drew for the fabulous Dr. Hart, three decades worth of juicy creative collaboration. Here’s a flip-thru to music:
It comes packaged with the Uplift Family Upshift, which in a huuugge Mother of All Launches Big Finale push (your purchase supports mom’s health expenses) is 50% off until midnight on Father’s Day with the promo code moal50.
And speaking of discounts (and rainbows, and pride month),
The Winning Family paperback is on sale until the end of June in all the places!
Only one more piece of the puzzle to launch and that's The Whining Family Podcast, which will drop into your inbox on Sunday. (Remember, you can manage your subscription if you want fewer emails, instructions are at the bottom of this page.)
My first guest is my favorite child. Here’s a post I wrote to honor him last year.
Ode to Boy
Last week, Ode to Joy turned 200. This week, my son turned 27. He was born at 4am, just before the birds started singing. His dad put the cassette in the player, and the first song he heard was a very special version of “Ode to Joy.”
Last Saturday we celebrated “Baby's First Opera” (I should probably stop saying stuff like that) with a birthday/Mother’s Day night out to see La Bohème. It was pretty swellegant…but the ending sucked.
History should note that the very special version of "Ode To Joy" that played upon the birth of our next generation was the same one that played at our wedding - "Ode to Freedom." It was recorded to celebrate the Berlin Wall coming down. Freedom of Choice is what you've got...
Yay! Congrats!
