Three hours later it is time for the cat to prowl once again. I head into the office to post the blog that I write and read the holiday greetings that arrive electronically.
What to my wondering eyes should appear but a reminder of what we live every day - but we feel most keenly on those Holy Days. Praise the Lord and pass the figgy pudding.
Thank YOU for the revelation that the cat was NOT in the bed with us but enjoying a new, catnip-laden scratching pad from Santa! So my wondering ears must have been hearing the sound bouncing weirdly. (This would be a happy ending except for the fact the Rats are still running the country...)
Good stuff! We live in a multi-layered world of half- or maybe 2/3 right-seeming moves, but there's always some little asterisk getting stuck to the cuff of our jeans or smacking us upside the head...we whistle our way up the ladder of well-meaning good, then down the chute of capitalist reality.
