Intro to Fiberlicious!
My free class about eating plantier will make you think, laugh and poop with joy.
Do you get enough fiber?
Probably not. Most people don’t. And why am I asking you this anyway? (It’s kind of a personal question)… it’s because it makes me so sad to see people in my life getting sick from preventable diseases. And because I care about the environment, and want to slow down climate change. And because I’m also a big fan of education…what we don’t know can kill us (and does kill us), but what we do know can spread ripples of awareness.
A few days ago I posted this video to my social media stories. I was shocked to learn that over 60% of animals on earth are livestock, and wildlife makes up only 4% of living creatures on earth. (The rest are humans.) (I assume this statistic excludes bugs.) I am also reading the book Sapiens, by Yuval Noah Harari, in which I learned that the mass extinction of huge land mammals was because people ate them. (Chapter 4: The Flood.) Yeah, meat is a long-term human habit and it’s killing diversity and killing us, the way we prioritize it. Over the years, my family has attempted to eat less meat, starting with Meatless Mondays when my son was little, and now doing Feedlot Fridays, eating hamburgers once a week. But something went “boiinng” in my brain when I got certified to teach a nutritional class called Plate by Zumba™. Eating well is not about having less. And what's more?
Although this program goes into depth about hunger hormones and processed food, it teaches some facts about fiber that really should be general knowledge. Doctors all say, “you need more fiber in your diet,” but what the heck does that mean? I want to share some basic facts that shouldn’t be secrets. And I want to share them in a funnier and much more fun way than the experts who taught me.
I’m going to spill the proverbial beans on Thursday, March 21, in a free 1-hour class on Zoom. Register here to learn the 3 simple secrets to eating sustainably that will up your mental and physical health.
Eating fiber right is not what you might think. It’s not about Metamucil or Quaker Oats. It’s not more salad, though leafy things are really good for you. It’s not about eating things bigger than your head.
And no, it’s not the creepy bio-engineered AI carrots the size of thanksgiving turkeys that they served on the airlines in the Atomic age according to this cool postcard one of my favorite $ubscribers sent me.
But good guess!
At this free 1-hour, after-dinner class on Zoom, I’ll tell you three secrets, plus a few more. In this stand-alone intro class, you can learn more about my 6-week Fiberlicious! course. which goes far beyond fiber into a whole system for taking the guesswork out of making food choices and eating sustainably for the rest of your life. We can eat healthier, and we can eat happier.
