Good morning and happy March!
It’s starting to rain and there’s a lot of weather expected this weekend. I’m in a warm coffee shop filling out my ballot and praying for good results on Tuesday. Get out and vote, young world-shapers!
My March-ing orders from the Universe came in and they said: put some things on the calendar! Two of these things are local arts events and one is on Zoom, for everyone everywhere who has a colon.

From Traditional & to Future Surreal Fashion
I received a grant to host a cultural event in the fall! I’m kicking off the Oaktoberfest Dirndl Fashion Show with a gathering for sewing artists. One fan described my play, The Dirndl Diaspora, as Afro-surrealism, but it’s really a full multicultural fantasy. If you like to SEW or make costumes, let’s make it real.

Why I’m a Fiber Evangelist
If you know you should eat more plants but are allergic to vegetarians, click here to register for my free Zoom class. I’ll teach you 3 simple secrets to eating sustainably that will up your mental and physical health and take the guesswork out of making food choices. (Seriously! Secrets that nobody is talking about that should not be secrets at all!) Sponsored by the Flab Lab Department of Vitality.

Writing in the Woods for Earth Day
I was approved by the city to host my 4th Earth Day cultural event this year! In my work as CWC Writer in Residence at Joaquin Miller Park, I have the unique opportunity to bring people together to think and feel and create with their voices. There will be two parts to the event: a write-in for climate action and a reading by local poets. Join us for Poets on Earth! (*this date might change to the 20th, stay tuned.)
As always, thanks for reading! And seriously,
Get out and vote, earthlings!
The world a month from now could be looking more hopeful.
Fiber is a way of life in this house. Sometimes we gnaw on shredded cardboard just to catch up.
Kristen I'd like to hear more about the events you're hosting and the history behind gettting the grants. Sounds like a fabulous achievement--very cool. Hey I gotta go eat lunch, my wife made roasted spaghetti squash with non-dairy cheese, black beans and Marinara, ohhh babyyy
